{Book Review} "And It Was Beautiful" by Kara Tippetts

Rating: 5/5

And It Was Beautiful: Celebrating Life in the Midst of the Long Goodbye is Kara Tippetts' third book. Sadly, this book has been published posthumously as Tippetts passed away in March 2015 after a hard fought battle with breast cancer. Tippetts chronicled her life on her blog Mundane Faithfulness for several years. And It Was Beautiful is a collection of some of her blog posts. It is divided into three "acts," with each act made up of select blog posts from her years of writing.

Tippetts faced her heartbreaking diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer by embracing her faith in Christ. Throughout her journey, she wrote honestly of the struggles she was facing, the grace she received and the love that carried her through. Tippetts' writing is beautifully transparent. She writes with such poignant honesty about the difficult reality of the long goodbye her family endured. And It Was Beautiful is a compilation of Tippetts' writing that shows just a snapshot of the life of the Tippetts family as they leaned on God, friends and family to carry them through their agonizing journey. With each blog entry in the book, readers are reminded of the miraculous grace that God bestows on us.

Tippetts' writing style draws readers in. Her story will break your heart and draw you closer to God. Almost a year after her passing, her writing continues to change lives through the publication of  And It Was Beautiful.

After her passing, Tippetts' friends took over her blog Mundane Faithfulness. They maintain the blog, and Kara's husband, Jason, occasionally posts as well. You can check it out at mundanefaithfulness.com

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for this honest review.
