{Book Review} "Bronner: A Journey to Understand" by Sherri Burgess

Rating: 5/5

On January 19, 2008, the Burgess' lives changed forever. Bronner Burgess arrived in heaven at the age of two and a half after drowning in his family's pool. Bronner is the story of how Bronner's life and death impacted the lives of his family, friends and strangers around the world. It is a story of two parents' unfaltering dependence on the Holy Spirit to get them through the hardest trial they have ever faced. It is a story of how Bronner's parents learned to accept God's plan instead of questioning it.

Bronner is a book that will strengthen the faith of readers. The Burgess family endured a terribly painful trial, but they let it draw them closer to God. Sherri writes, "God took away my son for the same reason he asked Abraham to sacrifice his; to enlarge my faith, to look not to this world as my home but beyond this life and this world, to heaven where Bronner is." Bronner's death led to many decisions being made for Christ, and it enlarged the faith of many others.

Bronner is not your typical book about a heartbreaking tragedy. This story is so much more than telling about Bronner's life and death; it is a book that will impact readers greatly because of the way the Burgess family chose to lean on Christ. This story paints a beautiful picture of what is really means to abide in the Holy Spirit and the strength that comes from Him.

Bronner comes out on January 19, 2016.

I received an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
