{Book Review} "Synced" By Jennifer Kennedy Dean

Rating: 5/5

Synced is about wanting to live a life that matches up to God's will for our lives. In chapter one, Dean writes, "Father, download Your will into my heart so that it overwrites any other desire. Download courageous faith that deletes fear. Synchronize my heart's desires to Yours" (21).

Synced explores the relationship between Jesus Christ and His Father and seeks to explain how we can live synced to the Father as well. Jesus lived synced to His Father through prayer. When the disciples asked Jesus how to pray, He gave them a model prayer. Synced walks readers through each portion of the Lord's prayer and explains how each part of the prayer can lead to us being synced with God. Jesus' ministry on Earth was a result of Him being in sync with God. Dean writes that, "Jesus, synced to the Father, was the vehicle through Whom the Father worked in the world" (94). Today, it is our job to live synced to the Father so that God can use us to complete His work in the world. Dean's Synced helps readers to understand what it really means to live connected to God.

Synced is an excellent book that will deepen your understanding of the relationship Jesus had with His Father. Dean's conversational writing style will draw readers in and make them eager to keep reading. The way Dean breaks down the Lord's prayer makes each part of the prayer take on a new meaning, even if you have heard and recited the prayer thousands of times. Synced is a book every Christian should read.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for this honest review. All opinions are my own.
