{Book Review} "Reset" by Nick Hall

Rating: 4/5

On July 16, 2016, a massive event took place at the National Mall. Together 2016 was spearheaded by Nick Hall, the author of "Reset" and one of the leaders behind the "reset" movement. The idea behind this movement is based on the truth that Jesus changes everything and He can reset your life.
"Reset" gives a brief history of Nick Hall's PULSE ministry and then moves into eight chapters that focuses on eight areas of one's life that may need a reset. Some chapter titles include "Jesus, Reset my Faith" and "Jesus, Reset my Purity." Each chapter ends with questions or a call to action. "Reset" is saturated with Scripture and Biblical truths regarding Christ's power to change the lives of anyone who accepts Him.

Hall's conversational writing style makes the book an easy read even though the content is deep and revealing of our own desperate need for Jesus. In some cases, Hall retell a Biblical events with a lot of creativity to make them relatable, and this isn't always a good thing. The basic principle of the Biblical event remains the same, but his retelling of the information can sometimes stray pretty far from how Scripture tells it. He is simply paraphrasing and making it modern, so it isn't bad, but also not completely necessary either.

Overall, "Reset" is a good read for anyone wanting to establish or grow in their faith. This books reminds readers to turn to God daily to reset our lives and focus on Him. The chances are good that any number of the eight "reset" topics will apply to readers' lives. This is a must read for anyone who recognizes the need for their lives to be reset.

I received a copy of this book through the Blogging for Books program in exchange for an honest All opinions are my own.
