{Book Review} "Baseball Faith" by Rob Maaddi

Rating: 3/5

Baseball Faith is a collection of faith stories from 52 MLB players. Rob Maaddi, a sports journalist, has compiled these stories, along with stats of the players, to tie this whole book together. All of these Christian men have their own unique life experiences. Their faith in God is what threads this book together. Each player begins with a verse and then tells how their faith impacts their lives. Players featured include Clayton Kershaw, Albert Pujols, Mike Dunn and more. Readers are able to see that these professional athletes are just like anyone else, and they need Jesus just like everyone else.

Baseball Faith is ideal for young athletes. It's encouraging to be able to read stories of Christian athletes who are boldly living out their faith. The stories are pretty surface level; they don't get into anything very deep regarding Christian theology. Rather, they are simply real life stories of how these men have found Jesus and how they strive to live for them. This makes for a great, easy read for young athletes. This is far from an in-depth devotional, but it still serves as a great book of testimonies.

Baseball Faith comes out on March 1st. It's currently available for preorder.

I received an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
