{Book Review} "Thin Ice" by Irene Hannon

Rating: 5/5

Thin Ice is best-selling author Irene Hannon's latest book. Hannon has built a reputation on her brilliantly crafted suspense stories, and Thin Ice definitely lives up to expectations. Hannon wastes no time in drawing readers in. From the very first chapters, readers are held captive by the intriguing characters and tense plot.

Christy Reed has suffered unimaginable losses in the span of less than a year. She has lost her parents and sister, and just when she is starting to heal emotionally, an upsetting letter arrives in the mail. Lance McGreggor has just left the military, leaving behind his career as a Delta Force Operator. He now works for the FBI at the St. Louis office. While he has left the military behind, he still has unfinished business that is plaguing him with guilt. Will this keep him from effectively doing his job?

When McGreggor is assigned Reed's case, he tries to hide the fact that he's a rookie agent. Even though he knows the proper FBI procedures, McGreggor finds himself attracted to Reed and the case becomes deeply personal. Can they both keep their feelings to themselves, or will issues arise between them as the investigation unfolds?

Hannon has readers on edge throughout the final half of the book when the trouble escalates and tragedy affects both McGreggor and Reed. Through precise character development and enthralling plot pace, Hannon has created a suspense story that will hold readers captive from the first page.

Thin Ice comes out January 5, 2016. It is currently available for preorder.

I received an advanced e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
