{Book Review} "Shaken" by Tim Tebow with A.J. Gregory

Rating: 4/5

Shaken: Discovering Your True Identity in the Midst of Life's Storms

Tim Tebow is no stranger to having his life shaken up. As a college football player, he won the Heisman. He's achieved his dream of being an NFL quarterback, and he's had that dream stripped from him. Many times, it appeared as though he would regain his dream job, and every time, those opportunities fell through. In the midst of all of his life's "shaken" moments, he's held tightly to his faith in Christ and relied heavily on the support of his family.

In Shaken, Tebow tells stories of time after time when his life has been shaken. He shares how he handled those times, and he encourages readers to seek Christ all the time--not just when life is good, and not just when life is challenging.  Along with Tebow's personal stories, he shares stories of kids that his W15H (WISH) foundation has helped. He shares how those kids have inspired many people to press on during hard times. Tebow includes Biblical stories to demonstrate his points as well. Each of the stories included, whether Tebow's personal experience, a W15H child's experience, or a Bible story, leads readers to find their true identity in Christ as children of God, rather than in their own efforts.

Shaken is written for anyone needing encouragement during life's hard times. It is especially ideal for middle schoolers through young adults. The writing style is simplistic, yet incredibly honest. Tebow doesn't hold anything back when sharing about the hard times he's had with his career and personal life. This is a great read for Tebow fans and critics--readers will appreciate him more after reading it.
